Christmas at Quiet Corner - Sharing the joy with the poor and needy

Every year, come Christmas and the crowds throng the mission compound to experience what they know to be Christmas with us. For over 27 years now, the spirit of Christmas, of giving and sharing, has been kept alive in these jungle regions amongst the poor and the needy. Their only wish-list clothes and blankets and they have never been disappointed. This year too three hundred families received gifts of clothing and blankets, hundred children received new clothes and over four hundred joined us for a sumptuous Christmas lunch, hence a Christmas message in word and deed? Their smiles and squeals of delight said it all. Catch a glimpse of the scenes that unfolded on Christmas day and be encouraged for you played a major part with your sharing and for which we are thankful to God for you.

An lonely old village woman left to fend for herself. To her and many like her a gift of a ‘saree’ or a ‘blanket’ means much. She wait with great expectation and a smile on her face. Can we fail her? Your gift made a difference!

Dear Christmas Partner,

I want to express my deep gratitude to each of you who contributed for Christmas this year. As you see, these pictures give a glimpse of what took place at Christmas in the jungle. We particularly thank “Bent Tree” for a major share in the Christmas budget. Again a big “Thank you” for each of you for your partnership with us. May God richly bless you for such compassion and concern
