The Challenge to INTERCEDE FOR INDIA
- Has a stupendous population of over one billion people.
- Contains 16% of the world’s population and only 2.4% of the total world area.
- Over 76% of the population still live in villages (700,000 villages).
- 7.7% of the population are tribal people - representing approx. 630 ethnic groups and 16% are Harijans (Out-caste/untouchables)
- The Hindu Caste structure is phenomenal. There are an estimated 3,000 Castes, 13,000 sub-castes and 22,000 clans.
- India has 15 major languages amongst a total of approx. over 1652 languages.
- A deeply religious country with only 4% Christians.
The Vision of the Ministry ahead!
“Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past, See I am doing a new thing!” (lsa.43:18-19)
- Intensify Bible planting in pioneer areas where there are hardly any Christians through Bible Vision India.
- Promote and energise our burden for Prayer mobilisation for India and for Asia through United Prayer Movement for Nations.
- Enlarge and expand our camping facilities and also promote our own camps and ecology awareness programmes.
- Expand feeding and literacy programmes on a larger scale.
- Strive towards becoming more self supporting, by promoting more income generating and self supporting programmes through camping and farm expansion.
What can your part be?
Your partnership is vital. We cannot make it without you. Your sacrificial help goes a long mile. It will help us buy Bibles for the Bibleless, feed an undernourished child, help support a native evangelist and even keep a mobile Prayer and Bible team on the road. An unfinished task beckons us.
